The Conscious Fashion Lifestyle Network Annual Meeting

On 2 June 2022, the inaugural Annual Meeting of the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network welcomed over 150 industry experts in the fashion and lifestyle sector at the UN Headquarters in New York. Participants ranged from advisory committee members, registered partnerships by industry stakeholders, media, Governments and United Nations representatives. The meeting highlighted actions and solutions being pioneered by the fashion and lifestyle industries to advance progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Considering the fashion and lifestyle sector’s significant impact on societies and the environment, the attendees reviewed how the platform is fostering transparent, inclusive, and transformative engagement of global stakeholders to drive urgent action for sustainability.

The programme featured deep-dive conversations and panel discussions on topics ranging from circularity, supply chain, and sustainable materials, to the rise of digital fashion, to the importance of diversity and inclusion. Plans of action, with a focus on overcoming identified barriers and utilizing common points of interest, will be used as tools for the industry to shift to a more sustainable future.

The event received positive media coverage celebrating the success o of industry leaders such as LYCRA, Tencel, Calik Denim, Recover Fiber, Arch & Hook, Messe Frankfurt and other sustainable fashion and lifestyle pioneers.
