Designing a better future: UN-backed programme launches call for creative talent

In May, Creatives for Our Future, opened the application process for a new round of young talent.

The initiative, a global mentorship and grant program from the Swarovski Foundation, designed in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, provides mentorship, and other resources to help creatives aged between 21 and 30 turn their ideas into reality.

Since the launch of the Creatives for Our Future programme in 2021, the Swarovski Foundation, with the advice of the United Nations Office for Partnerships, has supported a wide range of innovative and inspiring projects from talented young creatives around the world.

The programme has helped to bring to life a diverse range of projects that are making a positive impact on the world, in areas ranging from sustainable fashion to renewable energy solutions, with the Sustainable Development Goals as a guiding framework.

Applicants should be working on a project or product that uses the creative process to develop technology and solutions for or raise awareness of a more sustainable world. To be considered, they must submit a proposal outlining their project and explain how it addresses issues related to sustainability and the environment.

A creative approach to the climate crisis

For this year’s round, with the global climate emergency continuing to cause devastation and disrupt millions of lives, the Swarovski Foundation is focusing on supporting creatives who are working on projects related to sustainability and the environment with the guidance of the UN Office for Partnerships.

Selected applicants will receive mentorship from industry experts and additional support to help advance their projects. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a virtual educational programme, where they will receive training and support to help them develop their projects further.
